Early things to look out for IMO:

Appears the Knicks are already clearing up space to overpay Jalen Brunson ahead of the start of green agency tomorrow

Will be interesting to see if Lakers can still find a way out of Westbrook, or if they even will try and just eat it for a year

Ayton is another piece that I’m curious to watch as a RFA. He could be an elevating piece for someone

Curious what happens to Gobert and/or Mitchell

Should be decent volume of trades involving mid tier players

I heard earlier today that a few months ago, Brunson asked Dallas for 4 years 56 mil and Dallas turned it down.

Stupid Mavs

I see it hard for the lakers eating it for a year since they have an aging Lebron. Maybe they'll agree to draft "Bronny" in a few years to have him stay

An Ayton sign and trade will likely happen and would also benefit PHX. Should be interesting

For some reason, the first 2 weeks of NBA free agency is my favorite time of year. Love me some WOJ bombs

I was out of the country last year during NBA free agency and out of touch but was following on push notifications on my phone

Yeah Brunson stock has been inflated. Would’ve been nice to keep him at 4/56, but Mavs have other issues to address and think they’re fine without him. Knicks love to overpay for B-level players so expecting a $100+ million contract coming. I guess we’ll learn how much he cares about winning

Lakers may not have much of choice, though there are more avenues to dump Westbrook than people seem to think. They don’t really need a third star if they can prioritize getting solid role players and keep AD/Bron healthy (big IF). If AD can stay healthy that makes a huge difference as Bron doesn’t have to overextend himself

Agreed about Ayton, and also agree Phoenix can operate without him. Wonder where he ends up

Free agency is always fun, especially since we are at a time of sports calendar with lack of games/Finals are still fairly fresh so there is interest stemming from that as well. Fun to hear all the Woj bombs too lol

Brunson was the 33rd pick in the draft and has played 4 years and made 6 million in his career.

Mavs turned him down at a "friendly" 4/56

FUCK winning. He was trying to be "nice". Now i want him to get paid. Then after that contract plays out, and if he's still in the league, he'll play for a winning team at less money as he already has be PAID and can ring chase at a decent price

I mean at the time he wasn’t worth much more

He had some breakout games late in season plus playoffs. But he’s not that great. He’ll get paid because it’s the Knicks. He’ll average around 19-20 a game on a bad team without being able to do much else

4 years/ 110 mil appears to be the contract he’ll get. Yeah that sounds about Knicks lol

Murray going to the Hawks. Nice pickup for them

Thought the Celtics were gonna go after him. Would’ve been a nice addition/good boost to their offense at PG

Someone will be very sorry they pay Brunson that much money. When you have a top five player next to you, your game gets much better. Makes sense the Knicks fall for that mirage. Don't know why the Suns are so ready to lose Ayton as he is a unique player and separates them from a lot of wing and guard-oriented teams including the Warriors

I think it's hard to pay a big man a lot of money who can't shoot in 2022. He is efficient around the bucket and is definitely unique, but Suns need a little more scoring punch to beat a team like Golden State. They're gonna be nice defensively with or without Ayton, and while you'd rather have him he's gonna demand too much $

The guy has a .599 career shooting percentage. There is not a lot of $$ out there to offer based on cap space...Sun's could always match.

A lot of his shots are pretty easy level of difficulty though. He has great touch around the rim though and in that 6-8 foot range

He isnt to stretch the floor though which is basically a requirement at this point for a big to be a max level player

. It would help Phoenix for him to be able to shoot from the perimeter, especially given they’re a little lackluster offensively in that area. They’re gonna need another wing scorer to compete with Golden State IMO

Brunson would look kinda good in Miami not gonna lie
I’m shocked that Miami has a meeting with him but I don’t they land him. Don’t want to give him 5 for 110

I still think Tyler Herro gets traded and that will make me sad but I don’t know if I want to pay him big $$ either

Full list of players who can't move to the Nets while Ben Simmons is there:
Doncic, Embiid, Booker, Towns, Tatum, Adebayo, Wiggins, Mitchell, Gilges-Alexander, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter, De'Aaron Fox and now - Ja Morant.
))) Simmons ruined another team without ever stepping on the floor!

I like the Bucks adding Joe Ingles on a 1 year deal. Could be in their finishing 5 players

Milwaukee may end up floating a little under the radar.
